Why hire me?
First of all:
Have you seen "Pulp Fiction"? Well, I'm like Mr.Wolf. Just a lot more friendly.
A professional in pursuit of two things:
1). Awesome results;
2). You being happy with these results.
There are lots of different myths about producers, musicians, and their relationships, I will talk about them later in detail using this tag:
#MYTHOLOGY (click for more).
Again, what I do in two words:
I provode active consultations (with any level of my involvement) on how to optimally create or adapt music (yours or for you) for the listeners.
Second of all:
To start working with me you don't have to impress me - you have to hire me. That means you don't have to waste your time and money on expensive studio demos which would probably go to waste anyway.
My work starts with any phone-recorded demos or ideas written on a back of a napkin.
How can I be of use to you?
Let's talk specifics (those below are clickable).
- If you're a band/musician (with your own music/tracks/material, etc)
In short, my purpose is to help you in making your music plausible and better in all ways.
In many cases it is very hard to keep perspective of your tracks clear when working all by yourself - it takes extra time, resources, skill and technical knowledge to keep focused and honest. Own perfectionism doesn't help either.
Good musician should be good at three things:
- being an artist;
- (in many cases) writing music.
All the other things are not a "must have" for a musician despite being told otherwise. Of course you could try to do everything all by yourself (and yes, you could succeed, why not?), but it's a good way to burn yourself out. That's why there are labels, publishers, bookers, managers, copyrighters, designers...
And also there are producers.
Producing music is a different skill other than performing or writing it. It's an art of making something sound just "right".
If your song is good, nicely recorded, but there's a feeling that "something's missing" - it certainly lacks sound production.
As I already mentioned it takes lots of time to master this skill - and time is precious for anyone who wants to make something that matters.
The most important thing:
You set the terms of how we work and my level of involvement.
My work could be an advisory or planning of workflow, or I can control, monitor, and supervise the production process for you, or I can be involved into songwriting and arrangement. Your choice to make.
- If you're an author or singer who doesn't have his music yet
That's where my skills come in handy.
You want to do something specific? I know how to achieve that! (And if I don't- I'll figure that in a day or two).
I can make music (with lyrics if needed) for you.
And this is where working with me is different from working with the "other guys" - I don't lock myself in my kitchen to provide you with "finished track" after 3 months.
My work is transparent and you're a big part of it. Because this is YOUR music, and YOU will sing these songs and YOU will get most of the credit.
You don't know what you want yet? No problem - I will provide you with solid structure of variables and paths you could choose from to achieve the perfect result just for you.
- You need music in general (for your game or movie or anything)
Music can be a huge part in any product. It helps the story, the picture, the gameplay, or the atmosphere itself.
Being a huge fan of lots of different stuff, it is a great pleasure for me to work with something where music isn't the center of the cake (also, the cake is a lie).
I have the tools to create tracks of any complexity - minimal techno or full orchestra. All depends on your needs.
Making and producing a score is a whole different story other than songwriting.
Unfortunately, it is impossible to make a unified price-list on what I do. Prices depend on what and where you want me to do, and I don't want my unified price to include fligh tickets to Tallin when I don't need them.
But here are some basics:
- Full production consultation within Moscow (me being with you at rehearsals and studios, working with you and your engineers, etc) - avg. 300$
- Simple exclusive music theme for soundtrack use - start. 150$
- Single track from your drafts to final product - start. 1000$ (heavily depends on complexity, set of instruments, etc., etc.).
Everything is flexible. It doesn't have to be money upfront or any other scheme all the way.
So feel free to contact me anytime for specifics or deals ideal for you.
